Trouble with New hardware upgrade.

Post by Glacie on Sat Apr 26, 2014 3:07 pm

Greetings my fellow guildies!

i've been debating on picking up some new Razer tech, such as the Naga and MAYBE an Orbweaver/BlackWidow 2014...

My issue is, is it worth the money to get a keypad + Naga combo? or just get a nicer keyboard and Naga. I have tried both the G13 and Orbweaver at the store. I see an issue with the thumb rest and having to stretch my thumb to reach some of the buttons (Not the joystick).

SO what do you guys think? overkill for a Mage? or go for it?

I don't own either of them but speaking from my experience with keybinds and with the ability pruning coming in WoD I would imagine that just one of them would be enough. In theory no one should need more than like 24 keybinds in WoD so 12 buttons + modifier keys should be enough.

I would personally go with the Naga but that's because I don't want to train myself on an Orbweaver.

I have
keyboard- Razer Black Widow
Mouse- Razer Lachesis and a Razer Ouroboros
Gamepad- Logitech G13

Anyone who knows me IRL knows that I absolutely adore and swear by the gamepad. I have been using it for about 5 years and it was probably the best investment I ever made for gaming. The customizable keypad is uber comfortable and the thumb joystick for forward, backward and strafe left and right is absolute gold. I bought it originally for arena and it allowed me to dominate. Being able to do circles around people while they can't hit me is so sweet (when you play against a keyboard turner you will laugh your ass off because it's soo obvious).

You will not need a naga in conjunction with a gamepad because you will have all the macro keys you need and be able to set it up how you like.

Gamepad does take some time to get used to. It took me about a week until I was comfortable and then you just get more and more fluent.
